Ann Arbor claims the title of America's most educated city for the eighth straight year. WalletHub released these rankings in 2025. The metro area shows that nearly 96% of adults ages 25 and older finished at least high school.

More than 58% of residents hold a bachelor's degree. Another 31% earned an advanced degree. These numbers place the area at the top across the country.

WalletHub ranked cities by tracking where educated Americans settle down and build their lives. The study examined degrees earned, university quality, and how well public schools perform.

The Lansing-East Lansing metro area appeared at number 30 on the same list.

Niche put together rankings of Michigan's best public high schools using state test results, college preparation metrics, graduation numbers, student-to-teacher ratios, and millions of reviews that students and parents submitted.

International Academy in Bloomfield Hills grabbed the top spot among Michigan public high schools. This school educates 1,392 students in grades 9-12. State test scores reveal that 95% of students reach at least proficiency in math and 98% in reading.

Novi High School landed second. It serves 2,094 students in grades PK and 8-12 with a student-teacher ratio of 17 to 1. Test scores show 67% hit at least proficient in math while 81% do the same in reading.

Troy High School took third with 2,032 students in grades 9-12. The student-teacher ratio stands at 18 to 1. About 71% of students reach proficient or better in math, and 82% meet reading benchmarks.

Several schools from the metro area cracked the top 10. Pioneer High School sits at sixth. Skyline High School landed at eighth. Huron High School claimed ninth.

Novi Community School District led all Michigan school districts. Northville Public Schools took second, with Troy School District finishing third.

Oakland Schools ranked fourth. Rochester Community School District completed the top five.

Other leading districts were Van Buren Intermediate School District at six, Bloomfield Hills Schools at seven, and Okemos Public Schools at eight. Birmingham Public Schools and St. Joseph Public Schools filled out the top 10.
