He’s funny, he’s fearless, and he’s proudly Detroit. Whether you know him from his stand-up sets, his viral moments as the “Skibluvski man,” or his grind toward Netflix stardom, Boogie is becoming more than a familiar face—he’s a hometown favorite.
In a recent interview with Mason and Angie Starr on 105.9 KISS-FM, Boogie showed off all the sides that make him beloved in the D: his ambition, his honesty, his jokes, and his unshakable gratitude.
Let’s start with the grind. Boogie just wrapped up filming his own comedy special—paid for with his own money, produced in full 4K, and now being shopped to Netflix and Kevin Hart’s team.
“I invested in myself,” Boogie said. “Who else is gonna do it?”
He’s betting on his talent—and backing it with hard work. Shoutouts rolled in for Punchline Comedy Lounge, DCAM Productions, and his entire crew. He’s doing it Detroit-style: DIY, high quality, and with no shortcuts.
And yeah, he knows people say he looks like Steph Curry—but those days are behind him.
“Now people see me and go, ‘You the Skibluvski man!’ I’m finally starting to get my own identity.”
Then came the real talk. Boogie opened up about love, marriage, and divorce—not with bitterness, but with clarity and peace.
“I was married. I’m divorced. But God is good. Still one of my best friends,” he said. “I don’t hate you. I just know you.”
He had Mason and Angie cracking up and nodding in agreement—because that’s Boogie: equal parts punchline and perspective.
And if you didn’t know, Boogie studied Japanese at Western Michigan and dropped a few phrases on-air just to prove he still had it. A Detroit dude with a global edge.
“Comedy chose me,” he said. “I’m just thankful.”
From the classroom to the comedy stage, from heartbreak to healing, Boogie brings it all with Detroit authenticity. And that’s why we love him.
