Detroit comedian Boogie may be known for bringing the laughs, but when it comes to love and life, he knows how to keep it real, too.

During a recent appearance on 105.9 KISS-FM with Mason and Angie Starr, Boogie opened up about his personal life, including his divorce, his happiness, and the complicated truth behind relationships in the entertainment world.

“I was married. But I’m divorced because—God is good,” he said with a smile. “All the time. And all the time? God is good.”

For Boogie, the split wasn’t messy or dramatic. It was just life. A matter of timing, lifestyle, and understanding what each person needs.

“It didn’t have anything to do with traveling or being on the road,” he said. “It just didn’t work out.”

What stood out most was the grace and humor he brought to the topic. He didn’t dodge the hard parts, but he also didn’t dwell in bitterness.

“It takes a specific and a special person to deal with someone in our industry,” Boogie explained. “The hours are crazy. The lifestyle’s unpredictable. You gotta be built for it.”

And while it didn’t last romantically, Boogie said they’ve managed to remain friends—genuinely.

“Still one of my best friends,” he shared. “That’s beautiful,” Mason said.

“Come on, man, what are we doing here?” Boogie laughed. “I don’t hate you. I just know you.”

That line landed with both Mason and Angie. It’s funny. It’s true. And it’s a reminder that love doesn’t always end with fireworks—sometimes, it just shifts into something more grounded and respectful.

“Love is hard sometimes,” Angie added. “But as long as you can remain friends? That’s the bottom line.”

In a world full of breakups, beefs, and chaos, Boogie’s perspective was refreshing: faith, friendship, and emotional maturity—all delivered with a smile and a punchline.
