Michigan is about to get a taste of cannabis-infused Jones Soda, with production set to kick off in Metro Detroit. “In Michigan, where legal cannabis sales hit nearly $3 billion in 2023, Mary Jones is entering the market through a manufacturing and distribution partnership with Emerald Canning Partners (ECP),” said the company.

Jones is collaborating with Emerald Canning Partners to launch cannabis-infused beverages and mixing syrups under the Mary Jones cannabis brand. These products will be manufactured at the Gibraltar Trade Center in Mt. Clemens. The lineup includes 20mg THC bottled sodas designed for single servings, and 100mg THC sodas for those who prefer to share or want a higher dosage.

Both varieties will be available in eight flavors. Additionally, they’re introducing 4 fl. oz. glass bottles of mixing syrup containing 200 mg of THC, with flavors like Berry Lemonade, MF Grape, Green Apple, and Orange & Cream. These syrups are versatile and can be added to cocktails, desserts, or even drizzled over waffles said the company.

The exact launch date for these Michigan-made products hasn't been announced yet, but those eager to try them can purchase the THC-infused drinks online.

"Mary Jones ranks as one of our top growth drivers, so continuing to increase our footprint and penetration in the cannabis space is as important to maintaining and accelerating our current strong growth rate as the new products, channels and partnerships we're implementing in our mainline soda business," said David Knight, CEO of Jones Soda.

"In a category where most brands are startups without our nearly three decades of flavor science expertise, we are setting the standard in cannabis beverage taste, and that's combining with rising consumer interest in alcohol alternatives and new cannabis consumption formats to invigorate and grow the business."

The announcement sparked reactions on Reddit, with one person commenting, “Yet another Jones Soda W,” and another adding, “The wifey and I are definitely going to be picking up some of these.”

This move comes over a decade after Jones Soda launched its Made in Michigan bottles. It features limited edition designs with iconic Michigan images like The Joe Louis Fist, The Spirit of Detroit, and the Mackinac Bridge Walk.

At the time, Jones Soda partnered with Intrastate Distributors Inc. to bottle their products in Detroit. This edition of Jones Soda showcases over 40 photos submitted by fans throughout Michigan, along with the distinctive logos of the Made In Detroit clothing brand.
