Jon Witz, the event organizer, said there will be both traditional and new activities taking place this weekend. Witz said, there will be ice sculptures, a rope course, and a medieval village that will include knights on horses at this years Winter Blast. Additionally, there will be 17 food trucks and he even brought Wing Snob to be a vendor on the show this year.
Located near the Royal Oak Farmer’s Market and Centennial Park, the festival will take place east of Main and south of 11 Mile. The Winter Blast is a free, family-friendly event that will include outdoor winter activities like ice skating, a ski and snowboarding experience and ice sculptures. This year, the Winter Blast will have a slight as there will be archery and axe throwing, which will follow the theme of “Knights of the New Order” in the 15th century.
