Drake Reveals Release Date For New Album ‘For All The Dogs’
The release date for Drake’s For All The Dogs is finally here (yes, for real this time). Drake posted an old video of his father Dennis Graham performing on his Instagram account where in the caption he announced the release date for the LP.
“FOR ALL THE DOGS SEPTEMBER 22,” the caption read.
Fans previously thought that the album would be released on August 25 when two tweets announcing that the album would drop that day went viral. When midnight struck on August 25, fans were upset that the album hadn’t actually been released, “No Drake” began trending on X (formerly known as Twitter). It is to be noted that Drake nor his team never mentioned that the album was dropping on August 25.
Drake addressed the issue during his tour stop in Seattle. Climate Pledge Arena posted a video of Drake explaining why it did not drop.
“I know everybody’s upset that I didn’t drop an album last night. I didn’t say it was dropping last night. So don’t be mad at me,” he told the audience. “I just said it was coming soon.”
“It’s not going to be that much longer, trust me. I’m finishing it up,” he continued. “You know I got shows, everybody. But I promise you, For All The Dogs is on the way. I promise you, this album will be for you. I promise you it will be worth the wait,” he added.
Drake announced that he would be releasing For All The Dogs when he dropped his poetry book Titles Ruin Everything: A Stream Of Consciousness back in June. Drake created the book with Kenza Samir, who worked with the rapper on his 2015 mixtape If You’re Reading This, It’s Too Late.
A QR code was revealed that showed a message from Drake when users went to his site at the time: “I made an album to go with the book,” it read. “They say they miss the old Drake girl don’t tempt me.” The subtext below reads “FOR ALL THE DOGS.”
Drake’s last album was his joint project with 21 Savage on Her Loss. The Toronto rapper’s last solo album was Honestly, Nevermind which was released in June 2022. It followed his 2021 Certified Lover Boy.
