This Michigan Destination Steals The Spotlight In Vogue Magazine
Vogue, the ultimate fashion and lifestyle publication that has been grabbing the attention of readers for decades, dedicated some serious page space to none other than Michigan. Filled with all those glamorous covers and editorials, they decided to shine a spotlight on the charms of the Mitten State.
In the latest issue of Vogue, an article titled “Northern Michigan is Poised for a Summer Spotlight” takes center stage, shining a light on the incredible attractions and charm found in Northern Michigan.
The piece written by Christine Chitnis, describes Northern Michigan as the “alternative third coast,” a destination where shimmering freshwater lakes, charming small towns, picturesque cherry orchards, and vast stretches of golden sand beaches await exploration.
It highlights many of the region’s unique shopping areas like Au Sable in Leland, many restaurants and wineries like Bos Wines, and must-attend events like the National Cherry Festival in Traverse City. Also mentioned by the writer are Sleeping Bear Dunes, Torch Lake, and Crystal River Outfitters.
Many Michiganders are hesitant to share the hidden treasures of Northern Michigan and the author seems to share the same hesitancy. As she sings the praises of Northern Michigan’s finest offerings. She makes it clear that she’s not about to spill all of our treasured “secrets” to the world.
“It’s easy to feel reluctant when sharing the secrets of Northern Michigan with the wider world, though between a host of high-profile restaurant openings, new hospitality concepts, and a wine scene that’s attracting national recognition, there’s never been a better time to visit,” Chitnis wrote.
