Where Does Detroit Tigers PAWS Rank Amongst MLB Mascots?
Major League Baseball’s opening day is on March 30 and the Detroit Tigers are kicking its opening day off on April 6. Naturally, someone ranked a poll on the best and worst Major League Baseball mascots. YouGov.com showed 1,000 people a series of head-to-head mascot matchups and people picked the best one out of the matchup. After, they then looked at which ones were the best among all the voting.
They ranked 27 mascots. It should be noted, three teams don’t have a mascot which are the Yankees, the Dodgers, and the Angels. These teams have symbols and not actual mascots.
The Detroit Tigers mascot gained the top spot.
Not only do Michiganders love PAWS, so does America. PAWS from the Detroit Tigers was ranked the number one mascot on the list. The Detroit Tigers mascot, gained the top spot by winning 70.3% of its weighted matchups.

Fans of the mascot can often see PAWS at birthday parties, school functions, festivals, races, weddings, and many other events. This mascot even has its very own Major League Baseball stats and book club. If you were wondering PAWS stands about 20 stripes tall and wears a size 22 show. His dislikes happen to be water, “especially during rain delays” and Ohio.
Meanwhile, the runners-up were Clark the Cub from the Chicago Cubs with 63.2% and T.C. Bear from the Minnesota Twins with 62.3%. When it came to last place, the ranking listed the Swinging Friar from the San Diego Padres.
