Adult Happy Meals Coming To McDonalds
In a new adult Happy Meal, McDonald’s is bringing back its family of recognizable figurines, which, yes, also includes toys. With the introduction of the Cactus Plant Flea Market Box, which is said to begin October 3rd, customers will have the option of ordering a Big Mac or 10-piece chicken McNuggets with fries and a drink. It is the result of a collaboration between the streetwear brand and the fast food chain that probes deeper into nostalgia. The streetwear brand Cactus Plant Flea Market, gained its popularity do to the like of hip-hop icons Kanye West and Pharrell. In its description of its aesthetic, Complex describes it as a “fluid and eccentric combination” coupled with “playful graphics.” Its elusive origins are among its most appealing features. A specially designed box will hold the food, which should evoke memories of Happy Meals from the past. As far as the the toys are concerned, there will be a redesigned version of McDonald’s famous mascots Grimace, Hamburglar, and Birdie, as well as a new character named Cactus Buddy.
Tariq Hassan, McDonald’s USA chief marketing and customer experience officer released a statement saying, “We’re taking one of the most nostalgic McDonald’s experiences and literally repackaging it in a new way that’s hyper-relevant for our adult fans.” Will you be going out and purchasing an Adult happy Meal next week?
