$3 Movies On September 3rd for National Cinema Day
On September 3rd, US cinemas will make the movie going experience more affordable. For National Cinema Day, over 3,000 theaters across the country will offer discounted $3 tickets, including major chains like AMC. With more than 30,000 screens involved, there’s a good chance a theater near you is taking part. Cinema Foundation president Jackie Brenneman released a statement saying, “After this summer’s record-breaking return to cinemas, we wanted to do something to celebrate moviegoing. We’re doing it by offering a ‘thank you’ to the moviegoers that made this summer happen, and by offering an extra enticement for those who haven’t made it back yet.” As people are starting to return to theaters to see films like Dune and Top Gun: Maverick, the promotion takes place as the industry continues to deal with the aftermath of COVID-19.
In spite of all the conveniences of streaming, going to the movies is still a great experience. Though you can’t pause when something else needs your attention, seeing a compelling film on the big screen is its own reward. In a tweet, Cinemark said it would also offer snacks and drinks for $3 as well, a discount from its usual prices. Visit the National Cinema Day website and type your city name or ZIP code into the search box to find out which movie theaters will offer $3 tickets on Saturday. If you’re interested in this deal, it’d be best to get your tickets as soon as possible as movies are expected to sell out fast.
