Haunted Attraction Opening at Theatre in Detroit This Fall
Fall is right around the corner which means its time for warm cider, donuts, and Halloween. It’s never too early to start thinking about Halloween right? Well this fall, a haunted theatre will be transformed into a horrifying attraction. Guests at Birmingham 8 on Old Woodward will be scared by “Ghost on the Balcony” from Oct. 1-30. As described by Emagine, “The experience of theatre proprietor Mr. Baldwin, an old caretaker who has worked in the theatre for over 50 years, and a harrowing tale of murder and the mayhem that followed. This is not for the faint of heart…this will scare you to death, just like what happened to Mr. Baldwin’s family, friends, and many patrons of his theatre! These “Ghosts on the Balcony” still haunt the building today!”
In October, no movies will be shown, so the theatre can be fully immersed. The spooky encounters will include voices, footsteps, doors opening and closing, lights flickering, items moving, and eerie feelings. A spokesperson for the haunted attraction said that there will be haunted houses for adults as well as haunted houses for families. Tickets for the family-friendly haunt cost $20, however tickets for the adult haunt will cost $30. In addition, haunted houses for families will take about 30 minutes to complete, while haunted houses for adults will take approximately 60 minutes. The times for the family housed house and the adult hunted house are as follows:
- Adult haunt (ages 13+): 7-10 p.m. Sunday-Thursday, and 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. Friday and Saturday
- Family-friendly haunt: 2-5 p.m. Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays
Detroit get ready to get scared.
