Some believe that there is a science/ strategy to winning the lottery. Mark Michalko, executive director of the N.C. Education Lottery said, “Any time players see a jackpot top that half billion-dollar threshold, they start dreaming about how their lives could change by winning it.” In 2016, a statistics professor by the name of Nicholas Kapoor won $100,000 in the Powerball drawing. He believes that picking your favorite number is always a good strategy. “The strategy is to pick your favorite numbers,” said Kapoor. “The strategy is just to take whatever numbers strike you.”
Mega Millions reported that more than 1.4 million tickets were won at lower prize levels on Friday night, including one that won $1 million, six that won $50,000 each, and 22 that won $10,000.
