Young Thug (born Jeffery Lamar Williams) was arrested in Atlanta Monday (May 9) on charges of participation in street gang activity and conspiring to violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act, The New York Times reports.

The 27 other names listed in the 56-count indictment are allegedly members of  YSL (Young Slime Life/Young Stoner Life/Young Slatt Life) which prosecutors have described as a “criminal street gang” and were founded in 2012 with an affiliation with the Bloods. Gunna (born Sergio Giavanni Kitchens) was also charged with one count of conspiring to violate RICO. Yak Gotti, PeeWee Roscoe, and Thug’s brother Unfoonk were also indicted.

All of the 28 defendants were charged with conspiracy to violate RICO, however, Thug and Gunna’s fellow defendants face additional charges including armed robbery, aggravated assault, drugs, and weapons charges.

Per the outlet, Yak Gotti and four others were charged with murder for the January 2015 death of Donovan Thomas, Jr., who is described by prosecutors as “a rival gang member.” Thug is also accused of renting a car that was later used “in the commission of” that murder.

Among the charges in the indictment is Conspiracy to Commit Murder. The indictment claims that Christian Eppinger (listed in the indictment as “Bhris”) and Antonio Sumlin (“Obama”) discussed their desire to “obtain the permission” of Thug to make an attempt on the life of YFN Lucci, the outlet reports.

“I’ll tell you the response to any allegation is Mr. Williams committed no crime whatsoever and we will fight to my last drop of blood to clear him,” Thug’s attorney Brian Steel told WSB-TV.

Young Thug is expected to make his first court appearance Tuesday (May 10) morning per WSB-TV.
