St. Andrew’s Hall in Detroit Deemed Unsafe and Shut Down

Detroit's St. Andrew's Hall has been deemed unsafe for now, and an inspector has ruled that the venue is unsafe and should be shut down. That said, the venue's future is in question.

Detroit's Chief Enforcement Officer, Jessica Parker, states (via Fox 2), "Right now, the building department has taken the stance that until we receive that structural engineer report verifying the damages and what needs to happen as far as making those necessary repairs, we are not allowing any events to happen at that property site."

The operators of St. Andrew's Hall said they will update concert attendees about upcoming performances in the coming weeks. Tuesday's show, in which the stage started to buckle, featured rapper Baby Keen (pictured above). He ended the show early, and the City of Detroit is thanking him for being responsible and ending the night before anyone was injured. Watch video of the floor buckling below.
