Pistons fans dust off you old Grant Hill teal jerseys and Filas. For Piston fans that love the iconic teal jerseys with the black trimming and flaming horse, you may be in luck. Rumor has it that these jersey could be making a come back next season as the Pistons “Classic Edition”/alternate uniforms. The teal uniforms were worn by the team from 1996-2001. On Tuesday, Twitter users @skunwong32 and @caseyvitelli leaked approximately 40 photos of potential 2022-23 NBA jerseys. It’s been a long time coming for the Pistons, who began reintroducing teal into their branding this season. Currently, the 2021-22 Pistons’ “City Edition” jerseys and shorts feature blue-and-teal stripes and lightning bolts. In addition, the Pistons Summer League staff wore teal polo shirts in Las Vegas in August for the NBA Summer League.

The Pistons’ second teal era will last for only one season and a handful of games, if the jerseys follow the NBA’s and Nike’s usual rules for throwback jerseys, but could generate a lot of money in jersey sales for the Pistons. If Nike, the Pistons and the NBA approve the jerseys, don’t wait to get your hands on one as they will most likely sell out fast.
