Michigan ‘Hole-in-the-Wall’ Spot Named One of the Tastiest in America
Who doesn’t love a great hole-in-the-wall restaurant or bar? Many times, the best restaurants and pubs are small, locally-owned spots that are totally off the radar. America is filled with these kinds of restaurants, and it’s pretty much part of the fabric of American culture. I remember working at a small pub in college, and it was so fun and just a great experience- not to mention great food. Now, Love Food, has picked out the best hole-in-the-wall restaurant in Michigan- and it’s one of the best in the U.S.
“Sometimes the simplest of restaurants dish up the best food around,” the publication states. “These are the hole-in-the-wall places that may not look like much from the outside or even on the inside, but are loved for the delicious dishes they serve. From historic spots that started out as literal holes in the wall to basic diners that always offer a warm welcome and wonderful plate of food, we’ve rounded up the best hole-in-the-wall restaurants across the US.”
So, which dining spot is the best in Michigan? According to Love Food, it’s Mr. Kabob, with multiple locations in Michigan.
“You might expect to find food this flavoursome and vibrant in a treasured neighbourhood restaurant,” Love Food states. “But in a gas station off the highway? Perhaps not. Mr. Kabob’s original location opened in a Berkley gas station in 2003 and proved so popular there are now several other locations, including one in downtown Detroit. Each one serves up flavoursome food like zingy fattoush salad, moreish pitta wraps and beautifully marinated meats.” Find the full list here.
