Kanye Releases Deluxe Version Of ‘Donda’ Including New Songs
Kanye has released a deluxe version of Donda including two new songs,”Remote Control pt. 2″ with Young Thug and Kid Cudi and “Life of the Party” with Andre 3000 and IRKO.
Along with the new additions, Ye also refreshes “Up From the Ashes,” “Never Abandon Your Family” and a new part of “Keep My Spirit Alive.”
“Life of the Party” originally had a diss verse aimed at Drake that got leaked back in September but with the new release, the verse is gone.
Andre spoke to Variety about the track and how he was blindsided about the diss verse that was added after his recording, “I was inspired by his idea to make a musical tribute to his mom. It felt appropriate to me to support the Donda concept by referencing my own mother, who passed away in 2013,” Andre told the outlet. “We both share that loss. I thought it was a beautiful choice to make a clean album but, unfortunately, I didn’t know that was the plan before I wrote and recorded my verse.”
He said at the time that the track he “received and wrote to didn’t have the diss verse,” and “it’s unfortunate that it was released in this way and two artists that I love are going back and forth.”
Since then, Ye has publicly reached out to Drake attempting to end the feud stating in a video shared by J Prince, CEO of Houston-based record label Rap-A-Lot, “Both me and Drake have taken shots at each other and it’s time to put it to rest.”
I met with @kanyewest night in Htown at the Rothko Chapel. It wasn’t in my plans to meet him there but I must say I’m glad I didn’t allow a worship place for God to detour our meeting. pic.twitter.com/GM9FIN80Uj
