New Michigan Themed Restaurant Will Replace Kid Rock’s Made in Detroit Restaurant
New Michigan themed restaurant called “Mixing Board,” will replace Made in Detroit, Kid Rock’s restaurant inside of LCA that closed down in April of 2020. Kid Rock’s Made in Detroit spot launched inside LCA when it opened in 2017, but after a video surfaced showing him appearing to be drunk ranting about Oprah at his restaurant in Nashville, LCA thought it was best they cut ties with the “Born Free” singer.
According to The Detroit News, Mixing Board is one of two new restaurants coming to LCA. Mixing Board is said to have a automotive and musical theme to the restaurant, highlighting Detroit’s rich culture in music and cars, with a Michigan themed menu featuring flatbread pizzas, salads, sandwiches, bar favorites, desserts and a bar including craft cocktails and beer. It’s also rumored that Mixing Board will have a stage for live bands and music. Along with Mixing board, a betting-themed sports bar called PointsBet Sports Bar, will replace what used to be Sports & Social. PointsBet Sports Bar will debut Thursday, October 14, just in time for the Red Wings home opener. Both restaurants will be open during all Piston and Red Wings home games. Their plan is to extend hours later beyond Piston and Red Wings home games at a later date.
After closing Kid Rock restaurant last year, a spokesperson for LCA put out a statement saying, “As our venues are open, inviting, inclusive, and respectful to all, we look forward to bringing on an exciting new concept that aligns with our community and company values.” Detroit, are you excited for the new dining spots coming to LCA?
