Detroit is starting to pick up the pace of COVID-19 vaccines administered at the TCF Center site. This mass vaccination site has already administered about 5,000 vaccinations per day, however, today on April 5th, they’re looking to increase that to 8,000 per day. Here on Mason & Starr, we’ll be making sure you stay informed and get you the important details for you and your family.

The Mayors TCF Center Conference

Mayor Mike Duggan held a press conference on his goal to vaccinate more Detroiters. He also highlighted the fact that the senior population is seeing improving numbers, with case rates declining this is a good sign the vaccines are working.

This boost in the number of vaccines administered will begin to bring more Detroiters protection against the virus. Mayor Duggan stated,

“We want to provide the experience that makes each person most comfortable.”

“If you choose the drive up for your first dose, that’s where you’ll go for your second dose. The same applies if you choose the indoor location.”

What To Expect

The TCF Center is offering a great indoor option for people who want to walk up. Here’s what you can expect for the process.

  • The rooftop garage will provide parking, You’ll be entering off of Washington off of Congress west, this is the side where you’ll be directed into the open gate. No payments and or parking validation are necessary.
  • There are plenty of signs marking were to walk within the center. Elevators are available to get around as well as stairs.
  • You’ll be directed to a check-in point, within the ballroom area of the center
  • Receive your shot. After the administration of the vaccine, you’ll be observed for 15-minutes. And schedule for your second dose.

There is also still the great drive-up option within the parking lot, just make sure to state that you’d like that option when registering.
