VOTE: Should Monday After The ‘Big Game’ Be A National Holiday?
The Big Game is always a huge television draw, with roughly 100 million Americans tuning in each year.
Now, Austin-based spiked seltzer brand Mighty Swell has kicked off a petition to create a national holiday, “Super Monday,” the day after the Big Game, to allow millions of football fans a day off after all that partying.
“As an official partner of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, we know their fans – and ours – could use a day to recover from the celebration and excitement that comes with the Big Game,” Mighty Swell CEO John Beal said in a statement. “At Mighty Swell, we’ve already declared it an annual holiday and think the nation at large should be afforded the same opportunity to chill and enjoy Super Monday.”

On top of the petition, the company will hold a social media contest asking fans to follow @mightyswell on Instagram and share how they plan to spend their #mightychillmonday.
The “MVP of chill” will score a football autographed by Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady. himself.
