Detroit Opening Up Covid-19 Vaccines to Seniors, ‘Group B’ Essential Workers

Detroit mayor Mike Duggan announced Thursday (Jan. 7) that Detroit will expand distribution to all Detroiters over the age of 75 and “Group B” essential workers, including teachers and child care workers.
Beginning Monday, the TCF Center will start taking appointments.
Group B essential workers must give he name of their employer and their most recent pay stub to qualify.
Starting Friday, the vaccine will be made available to Detroit Police officers and DDOT bus drivers.
Here's who is able to get the vaccine at TCF starting Monday:
- Detroit residents 75 and older
- A “good neighbor” 65 and older who drives a 75-year-old to TCF Center
- Group B essential workers, including K-12 teachers and child care workers
