Michigan Governor Reveals Mask Requirements for Athletes
Michigan athletes will be sporting an addition to their uniforms for the next several months. Governor Gretchen Whitmer on Wednesday revealed mask requirements for the state’s organized sports, ordering athletes to wear protective face coverings whenever they can’t maintain a distance of six feet from each other. She noted the order should be followed at all times, “except for occasional and fleeting moments.” The only sport exempt from the order is swimming, Whitmer says. “By wearing a face covering when proper distancing is not possible, athletes are better protected from contracting the virus and spreading it,” she notes.
